Mission-Driven Companies: Strategies for Marketplace Success @ Hub Zurich

Upcoming Event: Mission-Driven Companies: Strategies for Marketplace Success

Tuesday May 24th, 2011 @ 19:30
Tensions have always existed between the financial bottom line and environmental and social aims. But are they mutually exclusive? Social and environmental concerns have typically been seen as hurdles to economic growth, but are they in fact the opportunities of the future?

In his recent prize-winning book ‘Companies on a Mission: Entrepreneurial Strategies for Growing Sustainably, Responsibly, and Profitably’ Michael V. Russo argues that mission-driven companies appreciate and leverage traditional strategic principles—with a twist—to win in the marketplace. He shows that a mission-driven approach creates significant barriers to imitation by larger, established rivals. At this interactive event, Mike will explain how socially conscious management can create a successful firm strategy.

Such notions may easily entice those who are searching for a way to harmonize classic business models with sustainability aspirations, but how do they perform in practice? How are these principles being applied to businesses in Zurich and around the world? We will also learn from entrepreneurial companies that are “on a mission” at this thought-provoking event – and look forward to an inspiring evening.

Space is limited, so please register to confirm your attendance at this exciting event. (10CHF for Hub Members, 15 for guests).
