Are you a young social or commercial entrepreneur from Europe? Have you found new and innovative ways to capitalize on opportunities and adapt to persistent challenges of today’s economic system? Have you succeeded in developing ideas or models that promote a more sustainable economy in Europe?
Present your vision during the closing session of the Economic Symposium at the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) and discuss with high-level experts the expectations that young European entrepreneurs have of today’s policy-makers.
How to apply
Upload a 2-minute video of yourself to YouTube or Vimeo, introducing your business and providing concise answers to the following questions:
– Which two features of your business are radically different to the “old economy”, i.e. concerning business models, organisational structures, management, co-operations or approaches to innovation?
– Which two contextual challenges (political, economic, societal, etc) are most crucial for your business as well as representative for your industry or milieu? What would you change, if you could?
– How does your business idea/model address those challenges? How can politics create an enabling environment and facilitate improved conditions to help start-ups like yours to succeed?
Submit your CV as well as a link to your video to Katharina Mewald (email@example.com) no later than June, 16th 2014.
You are an innovative (social or commercial) entrepreneur under the age of 35 and have in-depth knowledge of Europe’s political, economic, and social climate today.
If among those selected, you will be given the opportunity to partake as a speaker in the closing plenary session of the Alpbach Economic Symposium (August, 26th-28th 2014). The symposium is dedicated to the topic of “At the Crossroads: Re-Imagining Europe’s Economy” this year. It is part of the European Forum Alpbach (EFA) that brings together more than 4.000 participants from over 60 nations each year and provides a platform for experts from academia, business, politics, and civil society to discuss the most pressing issues of today.
